Owning a Yoga Studio: Leveraging Your Brick-and-Mortar Business to Support Lifestyle as a Digital Nomad

How can you mix and match the benefits of brick-and-mortar business with the flexibility and funding for a digital nomad lifestyle?

For example, can your business expenses give you two free international flights per year? Can your travel expenses be tax deductible? When is it better to buy a business class ticket vs. save money?

In 2015 in Thailand, I first learned the term “digital nomad” – was working for a startup, dropped into yoga studios around the world, and did my first 10-day meditation.

Four years later, I opened my brick-and-mortar yoga studio in 2019. Six years later, my business is independent. Now, I’m leveraging my business to open up new revenue streams: developing yoga studio software and bringing adventure, history and travel to my students via yoga retreats.
